A logo should be simple
Apple can teach us a lot about logo design. The simplicity of their iconic logos has been essential in helping them establish themselves as one of the most recognizable brands around today, and it all started two decades ago with this simple apple that we see on everything from laptops to iPhones now.
The golden arches are what helped McDonald’s become such an established company when they first opened back in 1955,. And while you might say “of course” considering how many people visit Mickey D everyday — take into consideration just how big they became without having any other marketing strategy besides those classic red-and-yellow hues and curved lines for its family business name!
Below, the CitiCorp Plaza logo (I designed this real estate logo at least 2 decades ago!) mirrors the way the buildings “stack” when you are looking at them, and easily identifies who and what they are while keeping the Citibank branding.
